AWS Activate is a global program, and Dutch startups are fully eligible. Through ROSTAN Technologies — an AWS Activate Provider — qualifying Netherlands-based startups can access the Portfolio tier of AWS Activate, worth up to $200,000 in credits, rather than the smaller self-apply Founders tier. We prepare and submit the application, help you set up your AWS account, and review your initial architecture so the credits go further.
Support is delivered remotely by our AWS team in India, working to Dutch (CET) business hours. You get hands-on help without local consulting rates. AWS does not yet operate a Region inside the Netherlands, so we help you choose the best nearby Region for your workload.
AWS does not currently operate a Region physically located in the Netherlands. Dutch startups typically run workloads from the AWS Europe (Frankfurt) Region (eu-central-1) or AWS Europe (Ireland) Region (eu-west-1), both a short network hop from Amsterdam with low single-digit-to-low-double-digit millisecond latency, while remaining fully within the EU for GDPR purposes.
Frankfurt and Ireland are both EU Regions, so data residency for GDPR purposes is preserved even without a Region inside the Netherlands itself.
Both nearby Regions are well-connected to Amsterdam's internet infrastructure, keeping latency low for Dutch users.
