AWS Activate is a global program, and Malaysian startups are fully eligible. Through ROSTAN Technologies — an AWS Activate Provider — qualifying Malaysian startups can access the Portfolio tier of AWS Activate, worth up to $200,000 in credits, rather than the smaller self-apply Founders tier. We prepare and submit the application, help you set up your AWS account, and review your initial architecture so the credits go further.
Support is delivered remotely by our AWS team in India, working to Malaysian business hours. You get hands-on help without local consulting rates — and since the AWS Asia Pacific (Malaysia) Region opened in August 2024, you can now keep workloads and data onshore in Malaysia.
The AWS Asia Pacific (Malaysia) Region (ap-southeast-5) opened on 21 August 2024 with three Availability Zones — the first AWS Region in Malaysia. Malaysian startups can now run workloads and store data in-country with low latency.
The new Region lets you keep customer data onshore to support obligations under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).
