Oracle Fusion Cloud: Modules, Updates and the AI Roadmap

Oracle Fusion Cloud is a converged SaaS suite — ERP, HCM, SCM and EPM on one data model, updated every quarter, and now adding hundreds of AI agents. This is what running it well actually takes, from India GST to the operating-model shift it demands.

Overview

Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications are a suite, not a single product: ERP, HCM, SCM and EPM run on a shared data model, so a hire, a purchase and its financial impact are the same connected data. Understanding that structure — and that you can adopt one pillar at a time — is the starting point for any Fusion decision.

The bigger shift is operational. Fusion is SaaS: it updates every quarter, mandatorily, and it is designed to be configured, not customized. Teams that try to make Fusion behave exactly like their old on-premises EBS re-create the customization burden they were escaping and fight the update model. Success comes from adopting standard processes, building a quarterly test rhythm, and extending only for genuine differentiation.

The articles below cover both the platform and the India-specific detail: what the modules do, how the quarterly updates work, how implementations succeed or fail, GST architecture in Fusion, the 2026 agentic-AI features, and how Fusion compares to EBS and to SAP S/4HANA.

Frequently asked questions

What is Oracle Fusion Cloud?
Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications are a suite of SaaS business applications — ERP, HCM, SCM and EPM — that run on a shared data model and are delivered and updated by Oracle in the cloud. It is Oracle's modern successor line to on-premises applications such as E-Business Suite.
What modules does Oracle Fusion Cloud include?
The enterprise core is four pillars: ERP (Financials, Procurement, Project Management), HCM (Human Capital Management), SCM (Supply Chain Management) and EPM (Enterprise Performance Management), plus customer-facing CX capabilities. Because they share a data model, most enterprises start with one or two pillars and extend over time.
How often is Oracle Fusion Cloud updated?
Oracle Fusion Cloud receives mandatory quarterly updates, applied to a test environment first and then to production on a set schedule. You cannot skip them, so the key is a repeatable readiness routine — release review, update-first testing and automated regression on your critical flows and integrations.
Should we migrate from Oracle EBS to Fusion Cloud?
It is a genuine decision, not a foregone conclusion — EBS 12.2 is supported to at least 2037. Migrate when the always-current cloud model, reduced infrastructure ownership and Fusion's roadmap outweigh the cost and change of moving. The choice should follow an assessment of your processes, customizations and data, which is where the migration guides below help.
How long does an Oracle Fusion implementation take?
It depends on scope, the number of pillars, data complexity and organisational readiness rather than a fixed figure. A single-pillar, standard-process rollout is far quicker than a multi-pillar global programme. The reliable path is a scoping assessment; the projects that overrun almost always under-estimated data migration or over-customized.
